Mehdi Nazeri (born April 1, 1988, in Bandar Abbas, Iran) is a documentary photographer whose work focuses on human life, cultural identity, and social narratives. He began his photographic journey in 2012 through a self-taught and experimental approach. Initially working in the fields of photomontage and social documentary, his artistic focus gradually shifted entirely toward documentary photography.

Mehdi Nazeri has been active in various aspects of the field, including solo exhibitions, participation in domestic and international group shows, and receiving numerous national and international awards. His body of work often reflects overlooked aspects of everyday life and sheds light on social and cultural realities.

In addition to his artistic endeavors, he has contributed to the field of photography through teaching, writing, and conducting professional workshops, playing a key role in mentoring a new generation of visual storytellers. His approach is rooted in the belief that photography serves as a powerful medium for cultural reflection and social dialogue.

In 2023, Mehdi Nazeri founded the Golden Shot International Photography Awards, a global competition dedicated to discovering compelling visual narratives and supporting emerging documentary photographers. Held annually across 16 categories, the awards include honors such as the Photographer of the Year trophy, category medals, cash prizes, a published Yearbook, and an online exhibition of the winning works.
